How to Protect Your Car’s Paint & Maintain Its Gloss

Wash correctly. Two buckets, one for soap and one to rinse the mitt, a pH-neutral shampoo, and never a circular motion — straight lines, front to back.

Never use an automatic brush wash. The brushes carry grit from every car before yours, and they are the single fastest way to swirl a finish.

Deal with contamination immediately. Bird droppings and tree sap are acidic and will etch through clear coat in days in Nagpur heat. Keep a detail spray and a clean cloth in the car.

Dry properly. Letting a car air-dry leaves mineral spots that then need polishing off. Use a large plush drying towel.

Park in shade where you can. UV is what dulls paint and fades trim.

Protect the surface — wax, sealant or a coating. What matters is that something sits between the clear coat and the world.
